Thank you for checking out my profile. I am a current medical student (MS4) and researcher at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine who completed an MBA at VT-Pamplin College of Business while taking a gap year between the MS2 and MS3 years of medical school. During the MBA, I took part in a part-time research fellowship with UVA Orthopaedics Spine Department with the oversight of Dr. Francis Shen. Some of my research interests include leveraging emerging technology in the field of medicine, pre-surgical management considerations of chronic disease and optimizing cost-saving strategies without compromising patient care. I am strongly interested in pursuing a career in orthopaedic surgery. Coming from a family of first-generation immigrants, I have held various jobs in fields such as construction, offshore fishing, food service, accounting, fitness training, medical scribing, tutoring, and clinical research coordination. These diverse experiences have rounded my perspective and developed an ability to interact productively with people from all walks of life. These experiences have also enriched my ability to engage with patients about their goals of care from a unique knowledge base.
