Background
About Brook Page
Brook Page is a Jacksonville-based artist whose vibrant paintings focus on color, whimsy, storytelling, and nostalgia, transforming the everyday into the extraordinary. Raised between the coasts of Southern California and Florida, Brook’s upbringing truly influences her artwork. A versatile creative force, Brook works in oil painting, illustration, and murals, capturing moments of whimsy and delight. Brook earned her BFA in Illustration from the Rhode Island School of Design, where she explored a variety of mediums from glassblowing to puppeteering. This rich experience expanded her artistic language, but it was children’s book illustration and storytelling that held her heart. After graduating, she worked in a variety of creative fields, including as an artist for the California Pizza Kitchen restaurant chain and as an art instructor. For the past decade, Brook has created over 70 murals for Trader Joe’s stores across the Southeast, from Miami to Little Rock, known for their playful and colorful storytelling. In 2024, Brook was selected to design a poster for the Jacksonville Jaguars and was also chosen by the St. John’s Cultural Council to create the first mural for a new public art trail. Both projects reflect her growing impact on the local art scene. Brook is actively developing several series ranging from intensely colored realism to more illustrative works and moody landscapes. Her use of intense colors, inspired by childhood experiences at fairs, carnivals, the theater, puppetry, and animation, serves as a therapeutic tool to manage her struggles with mental health. Her creative process is fast and intuitive, honed during her time as a muralist. Today, Brook’s artwork is featured in galleries across the Southeast, including the Plum Gallery in Saint Augustine, the Spoonbill Gallery in South Carolina, and the CX904 gallery in Jacksonville. She regularly participates in art markets across Northeastern Florida and works on commissions for murals, pet portraits, and public art projects.
