About Brooke Maxwell

As a Medical Physicist, I have a strong background in scientific research and analysis, gained from my Bachelor's degree in Medical Physics from West Virginia University and my fellowship at NASA. I am skilled in using various software tools, such as MATLAB, Athena, and Python, to collect, process, and interpret data from experiments and simulations. During my fellowship, I worked on microchip development for NASA's single photon X-ray detectors, and conducted research at the UC Berkeley Advanced Light Source facility. I also contributed to scientific publication writing and presentations, collaborating with a team of researchers and mentors. Previously, as a research assistant at WVU, I managed a large animal colony, performed multiple laboratory tests, and trained and mentored new staff. I received several honors for my research, including the Research Trust Fund Bruhn Physics Research Award and the WVU Student Employee of the Year Award. In addition to my scientific expertise, I am also passionate about community engagement and social impact. I founded a nonprofit organization called Redefined Beauty, which provides complimentary beauty boxes to local women who are battling cancer. Through this initiative, I aim to promote mental, physical, and nutritional well-being among women in the Morgantown area. I am excited to leverage my skills, experience, and values as I pursue new opportunities and make a positive difference in the field of Medical Physics.
