About Brooklyn Malone

During my time in Thunder Bay, Ontario, I maintained two co-op placements. As Assistant Property Manager at Waverley Park Towers I assisted in the internal communications and management of the condominium complex. As Kitchen Assistant at the Regional Food Distribution Association I helped to mass produce meals which would be delivered to shelters and soup kitchens across the city. I also volunteered with the Collective Creations Project at Magnus Theatre to create theatrical productions that tackled issues we identified in our community. During my time in the program, we educated the public on: discrimination against Syrian refugees, consent, and reconciliation with Canada's Indigenous population. After graduating as valedictorian and student council Vice President from Superior Collegiate and Vocational Institute, I am now pursuing a Bachelor's Degree of Management and a Bachelor's Degree in Science (Recreation) from Dalhousie University. Based out of Halifax, Nova Scotia I act as Vice President, Events for the Dalhousie Management Society. I also maintain two positions with Dalhousie University. As part of the Student Success Center, I assist employers and students in connecting with one another and play a large role in volunteer management for the Halifax Universities Career Fair and Dalhousie Career Fair. My second position as 25th Anniversary Events Coordinator for the Faculty of Management allows me to build our program's sense of community by creating and marketing engaging and relevant events to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the program this year. During the summers I've been privileged to earn several internship positions. As Student Travel Counsellor for Visit Thunder Bay - a division of the Community Economic and Development Commission of our city's municipal government, I assisted travellers with vital information while advertising the many assets our municipality has to offer. Last year, I was an Office Assistant for the Ministry of Transportation for Ontario and assisted in community relations and financial allocation for large scale construction projects. This year, I was a General Revenue Clerk for the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario and assisted taxpayers in understanding policy, remitting payment, and coordinating financial plans. Next year, I am interested in pursuing internship opportunities in a variety of sectors that will allow me to employ the many skills I have built while developing new ones to be utilized in the future.
