About Brooklyn Stam

A community-building, warm, inquisitive person with an international flair. Creative writing, communication, and cultural exchange are passions of mine. A big team-player, I love working closely with others both in my studies, in my work, and on the field. I was born in the Netherlands, grew up in the US, and have been lucky enough to get to study in three countries across four continents – I've studied in the US, France, Réunion Island (a French Creole island off the coast of Madagascar), and in the Netherlands. My studies in French (BA), Global Studies (BA), International Relations (MA) and Media Studies (MA) have allowed me to adopt a more global, nuanced perspective on the world. My experiences in my various jobs, whether that be driving French kids around the west coast of the US, waiting tables by the beach, or getting to help realize the foundation of a new, cutting edge event space in the creative sector, have helped me foster diverse communities. The places I've been lucky enough to find myself in have taught me a great deal about different cultures, customs, and nations. I have built up a large network of international contacts thanks to my colorful past experiences, and I look forward to getting to indulge in the creation of many more.
