About Brooklynn Smith

I just completed my master’s in Experimental Psychology at Western Washington University. I conducted and supported projects investigating how allyship and other contextual and environmental factors influence diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility in organizations. During my time in school, I have a combined four years of research experience, including project design and management, data analysis and interpretation, and implementing research tools such as SPSS, R, Excel, and MPlus. Previously, I worked for over 2 years as a Life Skills Trainer for teens diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Working within health and social care, I came into contact with teens and their families from a wide range of diverse backgrounds, cultures, religious beliefs, and health and social care needs. Every time I went to work, these children taught me something new. This experience taught me how to effectively communicate with others from different educational backgrounds and abilities/disabilities that are very different from my own. My professional objective is to join a values-driven organization with the potential to thrive and have an impact on social change. Currently, I am seeking employment opportunities that will allow me to use my diverse data and research skill set.
