About Brooks Leibee

Brooks found himself within the Media Entertainment industry since his undergraduate career at Coastal Carolina University, where he took part in the production of many projects in multiple departments. Since he was young his curiosity was visual and tactile. Cinematography, visual effects, and stop motion animation were leading his ventures into the world of film and marked a path that he quickly followed. While building a professional repertoire as a Cinematographer, he usually found himself creating original music for the same projects due to the lack of local composers with emphasis on scoring to picture. After a couple of projects, he fell in love with the process and the irony struck once it became clear to him. Brooks had 10+ years of classical symphony experience, and began playing viola around the age of eleven. Film and video game music was always there and he always had a striking passion for it. The process of writing music to picture felt right and people were emotionally responsive to it. This made Brooks think about his future career goals for close to two years. Since 2020 he began to streamline his path into one strictly for composing music for media. In 2021 Brooks composed original music for various short and feature length films, and performed viola for a video game album as well as in the "50 Years of Video Games" musical tribute for the 2021 Golden Joystick Awards. He won Best Music for the original score for the short film "Entrance", co-composed with Ben Shepler, at the 2021 Orlando Independent Filmmakers "Fierce Challenge" in Orlando, Florida. Brooks begins 2025 strong, writing original music for two independent video games with developers based around the world. He continues to learn, experiment, and explore the world of music with each new project and is quickly finding a footing in the industry.
