About Bruce Adams

I love technology. Whether administering M (MUMPS) databases and Linux infrastructure at Epic or developing COBOL programs at American National, I eagerly embrace new challenges and am always looking to learn more. At American National, I’m part of a dynamic agile team working on PolicyLink. My responsibilities include writing COBOL applications, creating agile stories, defining tasks and acceptance criteria, and guiding my work through every stage of the software development lifecycle—from initial development through debugging and QA. I really enjoy my current role. As someone deeply fascinated by technology, it’s easy for me to get completely absorbed in solving the problems my team has to tackle—so much so that my biggest fault might be not asking for help enough, simply because I’m too determined to find the solution! Outside of work, I continually explore new technical challenges. I am currently building a tile-based, turn-based strategy game using Rust and the Bevy game engine, my first foray into these technologies. Ultimately, I’m someone who genuinely enjoys the process of learning, building, and improving. Technology excites me, and whether at work or in my free time, I approach every new challenge with determination, curiosity, and relentless enthusiasm.
