About Bruce Anderson

With a background in corporate and project finance, I bring domestic & international fixed income experience with a focus on infrastructure at both the investment grade and speculative grade levels. I have worked in Canada and the United States and have been involved in transactions around the world I am currently part of a fixed income team that invests directly in project finance and infrastructure projects around the world, and oversees a portfolio in excess of $50 billion. I understand infrastructure procurement including the issues and challenges associated with public-private partnerships, off-take agreements, and contracted and merchant structures. In addition to leading efforts to invest directly in projects, I have also advised public sector procuring agencies, private sector consortia and institutional lenders on a range of infrastructure and project finance initiatives. I have previously been involved with real estate development and bring valuable project management experience. As CFO of MaRS, a $1 billion brownfield infrastructure development in Toronto, I was a senior member of the management team that led the sf Phase I from financial close, through construction to commissioning and operation and oversaw the acquisition and pre-development of additional assets that formed the sf Phase II. During this time, I oversaw all financing efforts, including coordinating a $100M rated private placement, construction loans, equity bridge loans and over $100 million in equity contributions. Finally, I understand fixed income investing, currently as an Managing Director in the Project Finance and Infrastructure debt team at Manulife and previously as a Director of Private Capital in the San Francisco, Farmington CT and Toronto offices of GATX Capital. In these roles, I am/was responsible for identifying & originating investments, completing due diligence, preparing and defending investment committee write-ups, closing and funding transactions and managing a portfolio of investments.
