About Bruce Beames

I have been involved in the field of civil engineering, and in particular highway design and construction since graduating from BCIT in 1985 and then Lakehead University in 1992. I have participated in a variety of design projects for government clients and private developers using conventional design-bid-build, design-build and P3 projects. During my 10 years in Australia I helped the Western Australian state government train up their site staff to undertake "Superintendent's Representative" tasks in accordance with Australian Standards contract management requirements. When my Australian employer purchased an existing engineering firm in Qatar I was relocated there and spent 6 years assisting in business development, project management of transportation and environmental projects as well as setting up our regional survey office. I joined Stantec Consulting Ltd in Victoria in late 2007 where I oversaw a variety of municipal design projects including my involvement on the $650M MoTI South Fraser Perimeter Road project as design lead and Engineer of Record. At Morrison Hershfield I was the Design Manager on the $300M Viva Bus Rapid Transitway project in the Regional Municipality of York (for 7+ years) and involved as Engineer of Record on various other engineering transportation projects. I am currently assisting Victoria Airport Authority with Project Management of numerous airside and landside infrastructure projects. Specialties: Highway design, tender documentation, quality control and auditing, project management and contract administration.
