About Bruce Bockmann

Bruce Bockmann is a senior executive with an MBA from Harvard Business School, 25 years as a Global Investment Banking Managing Director at Morgan Stanley, Finance Member of the National Innovation Initiative and most recently, Chairman and Director of the Harvard Business School Club of New York (HBSCNY). He also founded Webivore Knowledge Systems (an early online research system) and TechSpace Inc, the first comingled office space and community directed at startup tech and new media companies. Both companies gained national recognition as early stage game changers. At Morgan Stanley, he established and managed 3 global business groups, initiated new operations in Canada and Australia and was responsible for all foreign government finance and advisory business development. He built strong relationships with business and government leaders and led debt, equity and specialized finance transactions as well as M&A and strategic advisory work for businesses and governments in the US and globally. As Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Harvard Business School Club of New York, he led its conversion from an alumni club to a purpose driven, diversified, community service organization. It provides pro bono development advice to early stage non-profits and small businesses and brings together a NYC community college and NYC businesses to provide underserved communities with mid level skills in high demand. It also runs an extensive, high quality lifelong learning program and provides scholarships to students and non-profit leaders. HBSCNY has built the largest angel investment operation in NYC and conducts annual entrepreneurship competitions. Bruce's next goal is to assist purpose driven, corporate or non-profit organizations to design and manage the next stage of growth. Toward this goal, he has joined the Board of Ubuntu Football Academy in Cape Town, South Africa. Ubuntu provides 7 years of high quality football (soccer) coaching, excellent education, character development, nutrition and residence to 80 teenage boys from underprivileged homes. It then sends them on to prep school or college in the US, professional football careers in South Africa and Europe or leadership positions in education, law enforcement and business. Bruce's primary roles are strategic planning, short and long term US fundraising, expanding the US prep school and college network, enhancing the student experience in the US and developing relationships with US professional soccer. He is a cum laude graduate of Bowdoin College and was an officer in the US Navy.
