Recently retired from Suncor Energy Inc. after a 38 year career. I spent the first 25 years of my career as a Process Operator working in various operating units. I spent the past 13 years working in Reliability and Learning/Competency. I hold a Standardized 1st Class Operating Engineers Certificate issued by the TSSA.• Trained in centrifugal pump troubleshooting. Specializing in mechanical seal issues.• Trained as a Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM II) Analysis Facilitator.• Trained Technical Writer. Specializing in developing Process Operating System Training Manuals and Writing Effective Operating Procedures. • Core member of the Pump Improvement Team. Developing strategies to improve the reliability of the centrifugal pumps throughout the Fort McMurray facility. • Responsible for troubleshooting process issues and finding solutions. If required the development and delivery of training material to the process operators to prevent a reoccurrence of those process issues.• Identifying deficiencies in existing Process Operator job knowledge. Developing and delivering training material to eliminate those deficiencies.• Development of a Basic Operator Training Course (BOT) for new hires.• Delivery of Train the Trainer material to ensure sustainability of the BOT• Development and delivery of a “Writing Effective Operating Procedures” course• Member of the Suncor Technical Expertise Network (STEN) for Operating Procedures and Safe Work Practices.• Member of the Suncor Technical Expertise Network (STEN) for Rotating Equipment• Coauthor of the Suncor Corporate Standard on Operating Procedures. Recognized SME in the fields of Distillation, Fired Heaters, Centrifugal Pump and Mechanical Seals. Delivering training to Operators on these subjects as well as troubleshooting associated problems. Developed an Operator Driven Reliability (ODR) program with proven results for sites in Sarnia, Denver and Fort McMurray.I have also taught Process and Power Engineer courses for Lambton College in Sarnia, Ontario.I hold Dual Canadian/British Citizenship.
