About Bruce Creeten

I have been a musician for many years and music lover for as long as I can remember. Audio is one of the few things in life continuously inspiring me. I have always been interested in why sound works the way it does and makes us feel the things we do. Seeing how far sound can be pushed and trying to find new possibilities. Music surrounded me, starting with a guitar on my 9th birthday. Small, horrible sounding bands in Middle school. A laptop with logic pro 9 in High school. Through to a formal training in theory and practise in the Jazz Studio. After having a history with contemporary and electronic music I naturally started to shift toward more visual aspects starting with a theater project called NON PLUS ULTRA where I was commissioned to make and perform the soundtrack at presentations. After diving deeper into the possibilities of combining visuals with my music I have started to create the audio/visual project Faux Fur which combines soundscapes and beats with collages of glitched VHS recordings. My love for film has also been driving factor in my development. I have always been sonically inspired by certain vibes and moods, mostly, from 80s science fiction. Even spending my free time re-composing trailers and certain scenes from my favorite films. Audio has manipulated me as much as I have manipulated it.
