About Bruce Randel

Bruce Randel, Ph.D, is a researcher and consultant who specializes in research methods, statistics, and psychometrics. Dr. Randel has extensive experience research methods, including randomized controlled trials, cluster randomized trials, and quasi-experimental designs. He has served as Principal Investigator, Co-Principal Investigator, statistician, technical assistance provider, consultant, and reviewer for dozens of rigorous evaluations. He is certified under Version 5.0 of the What Works Clearinghouse (WWC) Standards and Procedures for group designs. Dr. Randel also has many years of experience in psychometrics and measurement, including large scale testing, formative assessment, test design, early childhood assessment, and instrument development. Dr. Randel has led numerous studies of reliability and validity, inter-rater reliability, classification consistency, standards alignment, item alignment, and test equating. With over 20 years of experience in research and psychometrics, Dr. Randel has held positions of Senior Research Scientist and Principal Researcher prior to founding Century Analytics where he is President and Chief Consultant. Dr. Randel received an M.A. in Developmental Psychology from San Francisco State University and Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from the University of Michigan. Author of numerous journal articles, book chapters, and technical reports, Dr. Randel works with evaluators, researchers, data analysts, non-profits, and program developers across the country to conduct rigorous evaluations and apply innovative state-of-the-art analytic methods to a variety of projects.
