About Bruce Ritchie

I'm a communications professional working in the Office of the NSW Chief Scientist & Engineer (OCSE). OCSE sits within the NSW Premier's Department, and is tasked with delivering independent, high level scientific advice to the Premier and Ministers on issues such as PFAS contamination, tunnel air quality, water security in the catchment, coal seam gas, quantum computing and energy security. OCSE supports the development of high-tech industry through a number of programs including the Physical Sciences Fund, the BioSciences Fund, the Small Business Innovation & Research Program and the Natural Hazards Technology Program. OCSE also oversees grants programs delivering funding to NSW universities and research facilities, as well as sponsoring science outreach events, including National Science Week in NSW and the Supporting Young Scientists Program. My role is to oversee all media relations for both internal and external stakeholders, including website and social media, and to manage events, including the annual Premier's Prizes for Science & Engineering and the bimonthly Science & Research Breakfast Seminar Series.
