About Bruno Gomes

The application of scientific principles with a focus on creating a given product is something that I have always been passionate about. Since I was a little kid, this curiosity has always led me to explore beyond the themes addressed in classical education and to converge my choices in access to higher education. Still in my time in high school, in the boom of smartphones and mobile application distribution services, I started working as a freelancer for website and mobile application development. Six months after the release of the first app, 3 applications were already publicly available, with a combined total of 200 downloads at Google Play Store. The success and enjoyment obtained, quickly became a lever for choosing a career in computer engineering. The deepening of themes such as algorithms, programming languages, operating systems and computer networks not only exposed the dimension of what there was still to learn, but also shaped my choices in the job market I was entering on. Motivated by the multidisciplinary nature of the field, I currently work as an IoT engineer in search of innovative solutions for smart spaces. Simultaneously, I am a professor and researcher at the same university where I graduated from and, with the goal of maintain a constant learning process, I often try to find myself in a student role.
