About Bruno Ramos

Since the curricular internship (2003) and the period after completing the specialization course in microbiology (AESBUC-ETGI in 2004), I have had around 3 years of experience at the former National Veterinary Research Laboratory, currently INIAV, in food quality control at the laboratory of Food Microbiology; During this period, I also acquired some experience in water quality control and microbiology in a brief visit to IAREN (Instituto de Águas da Região Norte). My entry at ICBAS comes in 2006, in a selection process that took about 1 year to complete, having started tasks in water recirculation systems associated with research with aquatic organisms in the Aquatic Engineering Laboratory, where I deepened my knowledge of assembly and maintenance of these systems. In 2008 I made the decision to do the Degree in Sciences of the Aquatic Environment (CMA) at ICBAS. However, for family reasons, I had to interrupt it in 2011. During this interregnum, I maintained functions in the Aquatic Engineering laboratory until 2012, having carried out a FELASA training certifying the good handling of the organisms used in the investigation. Already in 2013, I started collaborating in the Applied Physiology laboratory, continued the research with aquatic organisms, mostly bivalves, but also started supporting the practical classes of Human Physiology I (currently Anatomy and Physiology of the Nervous System) of the Integrated Master in Medicine at ICBAS, and Veterinary Physiology at the Integrated Master in Veterinary Medicine at the same institution. In 2021 I decided to re-enter CMA, having finished it in the normal season of January 2023. So far I maintain my curretn work by supporting pratical and adding support to Master's and PhD theses in the field of health/life sciences.
