About Bryan Benoit

I began my career in field sampling and laboratory analysis of reservoir fluids using chromatography. This set an excellent transition into a regulatory position, where I was responsible for the review and calculation of H2S Release Rate Assessments. I spent the larger part of my career working for the Alberta Energy Regulator, continuing in H2S Release Rate Assessments, and then the review of O-38 applications and determination of gas reserves. The highlight of my career was the implementation and coordination of the Alberta Royalty Framework for Acid Gas Content, where I was purposed in defining appropriate data for use in royalty calculations. To further my educational background, I moved to ConocoPhillips as a Well Testing Analyst, where my skills in H2S Release Rate Assessments and gas compositional analysis, have provided me with a well rounded background for this position. Within ConocoPhillips, I have taken on many diversified roles which include, Pressure Transient Analysis, calculation of AOFP, H2S Release Rate Assessments, Flare Dispersion Modelling and permit requests, and review and submission of well tests to the regulatory agencies. Having survived multiple company lay-offs, I remained as a subject matter expert, transitioning to Cenovus Energy after the sale of Conoco's Deep Basin assets. Using the skills and knowledge I've acquired, as a Well Test Analyst, I've switched gears and moved on to Seven Generations Energy, as a Regulatory Affairs Technologist. In this role I am challenged with wearing many hats, continuing in well testing, H2S release rates, and flare dispersion modeling, but now also taking on additional roles as a liaison to the AER.
