I was the principal design engineer for the design and implementation of the first commercial firewall for a Fortune 2 company in 1991, professional nudge and beta tester in the development of the first IDS/IPS systems in the early 1990s, architected large-scale international network deployments (100K nodes, migrating from SNA to IP.), featured speaker at the early Interop conferences, charter member of the Internet Society, and acknowledged thought leader in IP server implemention, threat discovery, remediation technologies, and SOC implementations. Built my first website using a text editor (vi) on a SunOS box to support the internal technical library at Exxon Research in 1993, and contributed proxy and identity qualification code to the early NCSA and Netscape code bases from which most of the modern web servers were derived. My code modification to King James Sendmail and the FW-TK package actually flew on the Space Shuttle! Experienced in all phases of application and security review and integrated systems risk management, as well as network security and infrastructure implementations, business continuity, and disaster recovery planning, testing, and ongoing operations. If you're looking for someone to baby-sit an over-engineered Windows server farm and answer help desk tickets, I'm probably not who you're looking for. But, if you're looking to engage with someone who has been on the bleeding edge since before the Public Internet entered social consciousness, can see the forest and describe the trees in terms YOU can work with, and is not interested in the latest political machinations, debates, or pretty graphics, then you want to speak with one of the IP network security pioneers: me.
