About Bryan Fee

Hi, I'm a Registered Social Worker at Western University. I am fortunate to be able to serve a population, of various ages, who are the real change-makers of our future. I have the privilege of helping students heal, do well in school, and find purpose in their lives. It makes me happy to watch the transformations that I see every day. Although students make it to university, many "Gen Z" are struggling with the systems in place that do not accommodate different learning styles. I meet many wonderful individuals who have so much to offer this world, but they feel stuck because of institutional barriers. I see Western as a progressive, accommodating, and understanding place to participate in education. For too long, educational institutions have created barriers, including financial and procedural, thereby making the process of getting a higher education difficult and discouraging. I have a vision for this world, which requires major overhauls of systems, and this younger and imaginative population is coming strong into the workforce. My "why" for doing this work is knowing that our planet needs healing, too, and all parts need to be addressed. We all know that without change we will destroy ourselves. My past social service experiences included working in addiction, mental health, and crisis management. Those populations varied greatly in socioeconomic status, general functioning, and trauma histories. Those 7 years opened my eyes to a world that I only knew existed as a concept, but that changed my views about others permanently. To all my fellow healers, it's so important that we keep our light strong. We are more powerful than we know. The light shall prevail.
