Background
About Bryan Gartner
Bryan is currently a Partner at Khosla Ventures where he focuses on leading later/growth stage investments across the technology sector for the firm. Having spent over 14 years in the private equity industry, Bryan was a previously a Partner at Sidewalk Infrastructure Partners (SIP), a Principal at Apax Partners' growth technology fund Apax Digital, and before that spent just under a decade investing with Insight Venture Partners, leading deals across the US as well as many in Europe. While at Sidewalk Infrastructure Partners (SIP), Bryan established and led the creation of a digital infrastructure platform in the wireless technology space. This platform focuses on neutral-host software and systems integration; enabling shared 5G wireless access infrastructure with the targeted intention to improve equity across broadband access and thereby help close the ever increasing digital divide, especially as it relates to education. As a growth stage technology investor Bryan focuses primarily on investments in the mobile ecosystem, education technology, collaboration, fintech, data & analytics, and other vertical specific SaaS and technology-enabled companies. He has worked closely at the board level with management of several current and former Apax and Insight portfolio companies, including: AdColony (sold to Opera), Alteryx (NYSE: AYX), Anaqua (sold to Astorg), Flipp, Genius Sports (NYSE: GENI), Pluralsight (NASDAQ: PS), Smartsheet (NYSE: SMAR), Udemy, Wizeline (sold to CDPQ), and Xamarin (sold to Microsoft), and was actively involved with many other Insight and Apax investments. A graduate from Princeton University's School of Engineering and Applied Science, Bryan earned a degree in Operations Research and Financial Engineering, with minors in Applied and Computational Mathematics and Engineering Management Systems. Although he no longer performs actively, Bryan is a large fan of all types of music, and formerly performed with a variety of jazz and classical ensembles as a percussionist. Instead of performing currently, he gets his weekly dose of aural inspiration by frequenting many of NYC and SF's music venues.
