I believe that it is the responsibility of Environmental, Health, and Safety professionals to engage the operations leadership in such a way that safety is not only a paramount objective but a path to increased manufacturability and market viability for the business. Operationalization of EHS is key to the successful integration of safety culture into operations and field services alike. Through shared successes and learning from our failures, we can grow as a team and create a world class safety culture in even the toughest of environments. My favorite quote is from an old naval friend who said to me one day,"Your ship can't change direction until you leave the dock." My favorite motto is "We're not going to let perfection get in the way of better" With all of that said, I hope to one day live up to what I tell my children I do for a living.I make sure everyone goes home to their families safely each day.
