LEADERSHIP SOLVES PROBLEMS Proven leader and problem solver. It is what I thrive on. There is something about taking a challenge or difficult problem – one that has been deemed too tough to solve – and proving it can be done. As a decisive and action-oriented individual, I have managed operations and large-scale teams to peak performance levels, and implemented process improvement initiatives that have solved operational issues and resulted in multimillion-dollars in cost savings. In the military it is imperative that team members know that they can count on each other in any situation. The same is true for all organizations. If one employee is not pulling his/her weight it affects the rest of the team and productivity falls. I recognize the value of my team and my responsibility to create a culture of individual accountability and ownership, but also open collaboration and cooperation. I think that is why I have been so successful in leadership roles. I have excellent management abilities with a sincere desire to fix problems, improve efficiencies, streamline operations, and help my team perform and deliver on expectations. GOOD LEADERSHIP PRODUCES MORE LEADERS Another aspect of good leadership is recognizing the leadership capabilities of individuals and encouraging professional growth. The most influential person in my professional life was an immediate supervisor. He saw my capabilities and strengths and went out of his way to encourage me, mentor me, and prepare me for my next role. That experience has led me to carry it forward. I developed a leadership model that provided junior leaders with the tools they needed to help them become better leaders and that, in turn, improved the performance of the entire team.
