About Bryan Harvey

After selling my first electronic organ around the age of 17, I was hooked on the music business. During my many years in retail I was fortunate to have taken the Dale Carnegie sales course as well as seminars offered by manufacturers such as Thomas Organ, Yamaha, Kimball, Roland and Bechstein. During my time in retail I won several sales contests sponsored by manufacturers, which included a trip to Hawaii and another to Mexico.While owning my own retail store for eight years, I honed another set of skills including managing cash flow, inventory control, advertising and promotion. After closing my store I joined Technics Musical Instruments as a regional sales manager for the Northeastern US. A few years later I left Technics and joined Kawai in 2003 as a digital piano product specialist, doing workshops, concerts and sales/product training all over the US. That position evolved into a regional sales manager position, with the additional responsibilities as the director of marketing for electronic products. I have also served as the coordinator for the annual Kawai Keyboard Academy, an intense three-day product and sales seminar.Each phase of my career in music has offered new opportunities and required learning new skill sets. As such I have made it a habit to read and study the art and science of sales. I am also competent with MS office as a result of the demands of the various positions I’ve held.The music business is in my DNA and I am most passionate about marketing and sharing my experience and knowledge with sales people.
