About Bryan Herling

As the Digital Heritage Service Leader at SEARCH, I research and develop field methodologies, conduct data collection, and process deliverables for our digital projects including 3D models and measured drawings. Through my background as an architectural historian, I have used LiDAR and Photogrammetry to produce measured drawings for the Historic American Buildings Survey (HABS), Historic American Engineering Record (HAER) and Historic American Landscapes Survey (HALS). Additionally, I support our Museum Services, Maritime Archaeology and Archaeology divisions with these technologies and deliverables. I also perform architectural research and survey for Section 106 review, prepare National Register eligibility forms and conduct other cultural resources based projects. I have prepared reports, historical contexts and inventory forms using deed research, historic aerials/mapping, and document research through State Historic Preservation Offices. I have experience in Connecticut, Florida, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Texas, and England.
