About Bryan Hertweck

I am the founder and President of Alcoholisnt, a nonprofit corporation dedicated to relieving suffering caused by alcoholism. Alcoholisnt seeks to mitigate or eliminate the countless negative effects of alcohol and alcoholism through education and awareness, financial assistance for individuals seeking quality treatment, and support of scholarly research. I am a recovering alcoholic who has chosen to dedicate his life to helping other avoid or mitigate their own suffering. I've published the book "Unabashed: Breaking the Bottle," a memoir about my experience with alcoholism and recovery. The book is available on Amazon and all proceeds go directly to Alcoholisnt. I'm also currently an independent consultant in higher education, writing and reviewing online course content in multiple areas, including information systems and business analytics. I have a decade of experience teaching business and information systems in the schools of business at Virginia Tech and High Point University. I also served in multiple administrative roles at Virginia Tech, both involving the management of data, information, and their supporting systems. Prior to entering academia, I worked in several consulting organizations, helping clients implement ERP and other software solutions. I have a Ph.D. in Business Information Technology, M.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering, and B.S. in Aerospace Engineering—all from Virginia Tech.
