About Bryan Kuk

I am an experienced researcher and teaching assistant with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry. I have conducted research for over 3 years in the duration of my academic career. In 2019, I graduated with a BA (First-Class Hons.) with an honours thesis focused on the representations, roles, and portrayals of femininity in video games. In 2021, I graduated from the University of Calgary with an MA in Sociology. My master's thesis is concerned with the impact of popular culture icons on identity construction, boundary work, and cultural omnivorousness. During my graduate career, I obtained experience and expertise in social statistics, sociological theory, sociology of culture, and qualitative research methods to conduct my research, My research interests lie in the sociology of culture, criminology and deviance, sociological theory, and sex and gender.
