My first startup was a failure that cost me a huge sum. I did everything that my MBA, Engineering and Law education taught me but it turned out they didn't help much for testing new business models and my startup failed. After that experience, I was determined to find a better method of starting new businesses. I chanced upon the Lean Startup methodology and was converted to it. I then used it to test out an idea which turned out to have no customer traction in Singapore. Because of doing things the Lean Startup way, I averted the costs I'd have wasted if I had done things like my first startup. I've gone on to use Lean Startup to test even more ideas and even used Lean Startup to test a B2B startup which I sold end 2017. I'm amazed at how we can test new business models in a scientific way.
