About Bryan McLaughlin

I am a Certified Mental Performance Consultant® (CMPC) and sport psychology researcher passionate about helping athletes, coaches, parents, and business professionals perform with greater consistency. My PhD research focuses on athlete-environment fit while using an implementation science approach to bridge the gap between research-to-practice that is evident in sport science. I am especially interested in how individuals thrive (or struggle) depending on the alignment between their abilities, needs, and the demands of their environment. Other research interests include my work exploring professional sport transitions, such as when professional ice hockey players are called up, sent down, or navigating career shifts. These experiences highlight the importance of adaptability, psychological resilience, and athlete fit, which is applicable to other domains in life (i.e, workplace). Drawing on both research and applied practice, I provide evidence-informed mental performance programs tailored to athletes, coaches, and parents, as well as business professionals aiming to optimize performance. My approach is evidence-informed to help individuals and teams develop the mental skills, culture, and strategies necessary to consistently perform at their best.
