About Bryan Melilli

Medical Device Product Development Engineering professional with experience in Research & Development as well as Design Quality Assurance. I previously worked as a Design Assurance Engineer with Hologic, where I led risk management activities for a number of diagnostic imaging and biopsy systems for breast cancer screening. I worked on multiple cross-functional teams to ensure compliance to applicable standards. I have also worked as a Senior Product Development Engineer with Terumo Cardiovascular, where I am worked to develop the next generation of surgical tools for use in beating heart surgery. I have worked with a team to bring a new product line of devices to the market, and I have multiple patents granted for potential future products. In the past, I completed a six-month internship at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, where I worked alongside clinicians and biomedical engineers to identify unmet clinical needs with the goal of translating novel technologies from bench to bedside. After consulting with doctors and staff from all areas of the hospital, I chose to address an issue with specially-shaped endotracheal tubes. I invented a device to correct this problem, and with the backing of both CHOP and Drexel University, a provisional patent application for my device has been filed.
