About Bryan Motzel

I appreciate projects that start off as ideas and exceed expectations through hard work. More importantly, I enjoy watching teams figure out difficult problems and find fulfillment when presenting solutions. I am grounded on skills developed in petroleum geology and environmental geoscience, yet my love for leading people spans beyond these disciplines. This awareness didn’t happen overnight. I have learned a few things about myself over several years at two Fortune 10 companies: I can successfully lead projects and I’m motivated to empower teams to do their best- I am decisive and leverage strategic vision, input and data to move everyone forward- I am accountable for results. I can celebrate wins and can reflect on gaps to get it right next time- I iteratively engage with stakeholders and test for evolving project needs. I can coach and be coached. Providing and receiving feedback underpins my development- I view feedback as a gift and actively listen for it- I know when to support the great ideas of others- I stand by my commitments and expect others to challenge me if I waver. I am creative and I welcome diverse perspectives- I can promote diversity in thought by including an array of people’s gifts, talents and inspirations- I fully embrace technology, yet I’m sparked by the face-to-face energy of people- I will never have all the answers, but I know others who can educate me.
