Hello! I'm a PhD Candidate in Sociology at Brown University with a rich tapestry of experience spanning both academia and the corporate world. My journey began at Emory University where I delved into African American Studies, fostering a deep commitment to understanding diverse perspectives. Over the years, I've worn multiple hats — from spearheading the deployment of analytical tools at IBM that significantly boosted sales productivity, to unraveling the intricacies of student engagement at Brown's Nelson Center for Entrepreneurship. As a Senior Data Analyst at IBM, I harnessed the power of watsonx.ai to optimize processes, and in roles at Advantage Consulting and Brown's Office of Institutional Equity & Diversity, I championed projects aimed at enriching both institutional diversity and client relations. Analytical development is my forte, but I'm equally passionate about research-based writing and communication. I take pride in my ability to integrate and apply sociological theories, making them accessible and relevant in today's dynamic world. While English is my primary medium, my bilingual proficiency in Spanish and basic Portuguese skills allow me to engage with diverse audiences. On the academic front, in addition to my current PhD pursuit, I've earned a Master's in Data Science and another in Sociology from Brown University. My educational journey has been graciously supported by numerous honors, including the Questbridge Scholarship, Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship, and Brown Open Graduate Fellowship, among others.
