About Bryan Pollard

I bring vast experience as a corporate attorney with finely-honed legal and analytical skills to my service as a member of the Board of Trustees of the University of Connecticut (“UConn”), Connecticut’s flagship university. As a Trustee, I use my legal, risk-assessment, and strategic thinking skills to advance the needs and objectives of UConn. I serve as Secretary to the Board while simultaneously actively serving on numerous committees. My prior board service includes serving on the boards of other secondary and higher education institutions, the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County, Florida, and several community service-based non-profits. A former legal executive with RTX Corporation (RTX) and its predecessor United Technologies Corporation (UTC). My skillset includes providing support and counsel to the global supply chain and operations function of RTX and providing advice to clients for complex commercial transactions. In my roles with UTC and its then subsidiaries Otis Elevator Company and Carrier Corporation, I counseled an international joint venture, supported mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, and provided general legal guidance in numerous areas including bankruptcy, environmental health and safety, and real estate. I also used my strong interpersonal and managerial skills to effectively build and lead a team that was responsible for negotiating 16K contracts per year for Otis and Carrier. I received my Juris Doctorate from Yale Law School and a Bachelor of Arts, Magna Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa from UConn. Recognized for being a clear thinker with strong analytical skills, I have a penchant for compliance. I have served on the by-laws and corporate governance committees of many of Boards. My commitment to ethics and compliance is evidenced by my service as a member and chairperson of the Ethics Board of the City of Middletown, Connecticut.
