Background
About Bryan Rainbow
I have been fascinated by computers ever since I first used one, back in elementary school. When I played a video game for the first time, I decided I wanted to make my own. I started with Warcraft 3 World Editor, making triggers for cutscenes and mechanics for maps that I would make. After that I started using the RPGMaker software since I had more control over mechanics. Eventually I moved on to M.U.G.E.N, a fighting game where you can design your own fighters. I also have created a number of simple games using the Java programming language. I started working part-time at McDonalds in 2007, while I was in high school. In 2013 I started full time at McDonalds and was quickly promoted to Swing Manager. After a few years I was promoted again to Kitchen Department Manager. My responsibilities included counting inventory twice per week and creating purchase orders to re-stock what we would need. I also organized the physical advertisements we were sent and delegated to other managers when, where, and how they would need to be put up. On top of that I was responsible for running the restaurant as the only scheduled manager during the closing shift, and being a leader for the employees. In September 2020 I enrolled in the Computer Information Technology program at BCIT, and have been excelling in my studies. I left my job at McDonalds in December of 2020 when I felt that I needed the time for studying and homework. Although I still do want to create video games, I won't restrict my options by pursuing that exclusively. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with databases (MySQL, SQL Server, and DB2), Node servers, and the various programming tasks we have been given. As for my ideal career, it would have to be something involving database administration, programming, or video game design. I am open to other options however, since you never know what you will find interesting!
