About Bryan Smith

Through the Real Estate program at Virginia Tech, I have combined hands-on experience in the Commercial Development Industry, alongside course like Data Analysis, and Financing Real Estate Projects. This has built a strong foundation that has brought me to where I am today. I am currently pursuing a career as a Commercial Development Financial Analyst. From a young age, I was inspired by watching my father build residential homes and aspired to follow in his footsteps. As I grew older, I learned from a developer how to build financial models for multi-million-dollar projects after working as a construction worker for some time. Now, as a Senior at Virginia Tech majoring in Real Estate, I'm continuing on this path by building lasting connections and expanding my experience. I currently work at Foxridge and Heathwood Apartments where I coordinate with management and matinee teams to ensure resident retention and satisfaction, track market pricing, and organize consumer data. Goal-oriented and driven, I plan to continue down this path by gaining deeper knowledge and experience in real estate finance. My next step is to pursue a role as an Underwriter or Financial Analyst, where I can further develop my skills in market research, investment analysis, and proforma modeling following my graduation in May of 2026.
