About Bryan Smith

Bryan Smith is Senior Fellow with George Mason University's National Security Institute. He is a member of the Satelles, Inc. Board of Advisors, and provides strategic consulting services to companies large and small seeking to position themselves for growth in the intelligence and defense sectors. His unique federal resources management career provides him with a "stand-in" perspective of key Executive Branch and Congressional decision-makers. Bryan has held senior resource management positions in the House and Senate intelligence committees, the Office of Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), and the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO). His diverse national security career also included diplomatic and operational intelligence assignments.Mr. Smith retired from federal service in 2015 as the Budget Director of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI), where he served under Chairman Mike Rogers from 2011-2014. Outside of his professional life, Bryan is a volunteer and fund-raiser for his church and charities fighting homelessness and hunger. He is a Board Member of the Unique Learning Center in Washington, D.C. He is also an avid fly fisherman and occasional guide.
