About Bryan Stone

As President of Lockhart Power Company, a unique South Carolina investor-owned utility, Stone has led transformative initiatives from strategic vision through completion since 2006. He and his high-performance team have increased the number of generation facilities tenfold, creating the most renewable utility in America. The resulting diversified portfolio generates 100% renewable energy, and was implemented so cost-effectively it has reduced customer costs. These generation projects necessitated transformative changes in resources, capabilities and processes across all departments. Acting upon the values he shares with the company and its family owners, Stone has also led Lockhart Power’s transformation into a progressive community leader in charitable programs, economic development, education and housing. In 2015, Stone assumed the additional role of Chief Operating Officer of the largest private wastewater utility in South Carolina, when it was purchased by Lockhart Power’s parent company, Pacolet Milliken. He led an $80 million capital investment program that transformed operations by adding key physical assets and implementing best practices over a five-year period, after which the wastewater utility was sold as a result of the tremendous market value that had been realized. Before Lockhart Power, Stone served in engineering and maintenance management roles at two Fortune 500 chemical manufacturing companies, including power manager for one of the largest industrial power customers and renewable energy producers in Florida. Stone earned a BSEE from Georgia Tech, and during his career later earned an MSEE from Georgia Tech, an MBA from the University of Florida, and a professional engineering license in Florida. Current community and industry involvements include actively serving on the Boards of Directors for the United Way of the Piedmont and for E4 Carolinas, a regional energy industry organization. Outside activities include the lifelong passions of volleyball and tennis, often now with his two sons.
