I began my career 15 plus years ago in Revenue Cycle in Registration while taking classes at night in college in Kentucky. I relocated back to the Nashville, Tn area where I took a Temp position following up on claims with an outsource company doing business with HealthTrust Hospitals back when UB82 's where still around. I then accepted a position with IPN Network in Nashville where I began to learn the real flows and processes of the Revenue Cycle and gained more knowledge with HMR(Now Extend Healthcare) located in Hendersonville, TN where I gained my knowledge of Medicare and Interim Business Office Management traveling to various hospitals to assist when and where needed. I now am an independent consultant I am wrapping up a 3 year consulting project with a CAH in Rural Louisiana when arriving this hospital had 14.9 million outstanding in old AR, along with a small team we reduced the outstanding AR to 6 million in less than 6 months. I also assisted with the implementation of Quadax Billing Software and their Denial Management system and the conversion of a new EMR system Prognosis Systems. Finally we added a full-time coder and LPN in registration area to code at the time of service to ensure that we met Medical Necessity and where able to collect more money at the time of service.
