About Bryan Toribio

My time with Carbon Black has given me a wealth of experience and value. I started in Customer Support which has allowed me to gain a unique perspective on the software product life cycle. I learned that having a fundamental understanding of a product we delivered went much farther then just a user guide. The product must be intuitive, and the resources for use must be rich with examples and tutorials. Working with customers allowed me to gain empathy and understanding on how a product is received and how it can be used. My experience with Customer Support helped with my transition to Quality Assurance. My goal in Quality was to not only put myself in the customer's shoes when testing, but to also be creative in how I tested to step outside the bounds of what was expected. I was able to refine my ability of discovering edge cases and regressions within our products. My focal point was testing on the Windows Operating System. I have gained an intimate understanding of the OS through my years of testing. My responsibilites included configuring and deploying test machines, to Microsoft signing of our product drivers through the Windows Hardware Lab Kit suite of tests. I was responsible for testing across a broad range of Windows Operating systems - Desktop and Server versions ranging from Windows 7 and Server 2008 up until the latest iterations of Windows and even pre release builds of the Operating System through Microsoft's Partner program. The bulk of my work was under a very talented Windows team for a software security product. We leveraged Agile to iterate on our product providing security and performance enhancements to our product. I was fortunate to have learned so much about the Cyber Security field as well as what it means to effectively deliver a product
