About Bryans Mukasa

I aspire towards an architecture without [A]rchitects - one that results from the collective. It should serve more than just shelter and be rooted in the everyday life. It is born out of, resonates with, expresses, and reinnforces humanity's inherent connection to nature and its wonders. It challenges the role of design in the social production of space and questions the existing dichotomy between the natural and the built. Such an architecture forms an integral part of what should constitute Cities of Tomorrow. I am an architect, urban planner and designer, and urban theorist. I have experience in building design, particular in the areas of humanitarian architecture and sustainable design. He has worked on projects in Sub-saharan Africa (Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, South Sudan, and Burundi) and the global north (Sweden). Currently, I am engaged in academia, working on questions and issues related to; How to socially and economically integrate immigrants into cities; DIY urbanism; Urban Agriculture; Spatial and Environmental Justice; Greening Cities; and the relationship between Food and Cities. I believe in teamwork and diversity, works well in multidisciplinary and multicultural environments.
