About Bryce Pardo

My areas of specialization include cannabis policy and regulation, opioid control, and regulations relating to New Psychoactive Substances. I have worked with national, state, and local governments in cannabis regulation and drug policy. Currently working as a Research Officer at the UN Office on Drugs and Crime in Vienna, Austria. Prior to that, I served nearly five years as a researcher at the RAND Corporation, one year of which I was the Associate Director of RAND's Drug Policy Research Center, where I focused most of my work on illegal drug markets. Before completing my PhD in Public Policy at the University of Maryland, I served five years as an official at the Inter-American Drug Abuse Control Commission (CICAD) within the Organization of American States (OAS). My biggest achievement at the OAS was my work on the Report on the Drug Problem in the Americas (2013). I have also worked with other multi-lateral institutions, including the Pan American Health Organization and independent institutions associated with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime. My research and academic work has been published in the International Journal of Drug Policy, Addiction Journal, Lancet Psychology, Criminology and Public Policy, and reports for the London School of Economics, U.N.
