As a public policy administrator, I supported federal and Fortune 500 organizations, not just with a statement but active plans to change the way they function. Across my career, I have driven compliance for employee management, public health and safety, accessibility, and environment preservation policies in fast-paced organizations. In my current role as the Digital Media Engagement (DME)- Accessibility Intern at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), I increased accessibility of web and digital media content on the Department of Veterans Affairs website and other VA communication platforms. RECENT ACHIEVEMENTS: • Upheld the validity of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 by enabling disabled veterans to have the same responsibility to learn about VA’s services and benefits as the others. • Remediated documents uploaded to the Department of Veterans Affairs website or scheduled for posting. • Translated complex visual elements into simple text for easy reading by veterans using screen readers or keyboards. I understand the value of establishing strong and mutually beneficial partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including cross-functional, multicultural, and globally dispersed teams. By combining focused emotional intelligence and an engaging leadership style, I develop and inspire high-performing team members to exceed organizational expectations.
