About Bryony Ella

Bringing different cosmologies together through public realm installations, studio painting and wild drawing walks, my practice focuses on expanding perspectives on concepts of community and belonging in light of the ecological and climate crisis. I work within an embodied ecology philosophical framework at the intersection of science and spirituality, considering the body a portal to more eco-centric rather than an ego-centric ways of relating with the natural world. My practice prioritises voices and stories that are typically under-told or overlooked. I am interested in developing inclusive ways of engaging the public with science that hold space for diverse and sensory perspectives. Currently, I am working p/t as Research Artist on the Melting Metropolis project, a Wellcome-funded environmental history project looking at everyday experiences of urban heat islands in New York, London and Paris.
