Background

About Bryson Rivera

Throughout my entire first undergraduate degree I had an unwavering desire to become an Attorney. I attended CSULB as a Political Science student and in 2020 graduated Magna Cum Laude. I previously held an internship position at an immigration law firm where I learned a lot. I grew as both a writer and a critical thinker. But for most of that time I felt that something was missing. I yearned creativity and the ability build products that can impact people on a wider net. I did not find the missing piece to the puzzle until I discovered programming and read "Python Crash Course". Learning about how we can incorporate logic, creativity and problem solving into building beautiful and meaningful applications seriously changed my life and my outlook into what I could achieve. Fast forward to now, I am currently enrolled into OSU as a post-bacc Computer Science Student and I continue to be in awe of the amount of knowledge and information that is out there to learn. Since my enrollment in OSU I have built 3 projects I am very proud of (Links to Github provided in 'Projects' section). I am a faster learner and a great communicator. Technologies and Languages I have experience with include: Python, JavaScript, Node.js, Express.js, FastAPI Framework, Git/GitHub, HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, SQL (MySQL), MongoDB, and Mongoose. My current specialities are that I have experience with: Git Version Control, Object-Oriented Programming, RESTful API Design, Software Development LifeCycle, Unit Testing, Complexity Analysis Design, Debugging, and Model View Controller (MVC) methods for organizing code.
