About Bud Patterson

After 30+ years working with at-risk youth and families through non-profit organizations, I have recently set out on a completely new and unrelated career path. I am now a journalist and freelance writer. I would like to consider myself, in the tradition of Mark Twain, a humorist and storyteller, but that is up to the reader to decide. In my first year as a journalist, I won a Wyoming Press Association first place award in Government Issue reporting for my coverage of the requested vacation of County Road 183, also known as Lonetree Canyon Road. It became a heated an emotional issue in the county. Another skill I developed while working with all those non-profits is how to put your best foot forward and I have been able to help a few businesses and organizations re-brand themselves in concise, informative and interesting ways. is a blog I started to in an effort to chronicle living, working and playing in the nations 44th state.
