About Bud Walsh

Bud’s comprehensive military experience combined with a polished business know-how ideally positions him as a Senior Executive within the Defence & Aerospace Industry providing energetic leadership of opportunity analysis and assessment, program capture plan and win-strategy development, operational requirements analysis and solution definition, and detailed proposal preparation and management. A retired Regular Force officer with the Canadian Army, Bud presently serves as a Reserve Force Lieutenant Colonel with over thirty-two years of service to his country. He is an expert in the Canadian military procurement system, with extensive experience in writing key decision documents for the government project approval process and budgetary planning guidance. Bud has broad knowledge and first-hand experience in the development of major crown programs, especially those involving complex system integration, C4I systems, armour vehicles and survivability systems, surveillance and target acquisition systems, training and combat simulation systems, and significant industrial regional benefit requirements. Bud holds a Bachelor of Science degree (Honours) from Royal Roads Military College in Victoria, BC (1986) and a Masters in Science from The Royal Military College of Science in Shrivenham, UK (1994). In December 2009, Bud was awarded the NATO Meritorious Service Medal for courage under fire and extraordinary meritorious serivce as the Staff Officer (September 2008 to March 2009) for Operational Mentor and Liaison Team operations, International Security Assistance Force, Afghanistan. In May 2012, Bud was again recognized and awarded the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal for dedicated service to his peers, his community and to Canada.
