About Bud White

After getting my BA in 1970, among other things I worked for eight years as an Equal Opportunity Specialist at the Office for Civil Rights at the Department of Education, I worked on statistical analysis and on investigating cases on the basis of race, gender, and disability. I have worked in a number of social service positions; after receiving my Masters Degree in Counseling in the 90's. I held positions working with physically disabled, mental/emotionally disabled, and homeless persons. I still have a lot of interest in social work and especially in the area of civil rights. Also having taken singing lessons for two plus years I am very interested in doing some singing in more formal settings; I am trying out for parts in several local musicals and am participating in singing in choirs, including the Silvertones (we perform at nursing homes, the VA, etc One of the joys is going into the audience after performances and greating and making contact with, often very happy, participants). I would like to help others in what ever way I can best do this.This includes plans to go into nursing homes and sing, by myself, or with a partner, to the participants, tutoring, and sharing my experiences with others in whatever way is most helpful.
