About Buffie Edick

In my current role I coordinate the advisement of our undergraduate and graduate students as well holding the primary advisor role for many undergraduate students in our Childhood Inclusive majors. In this time I develop plans of study through their student teaching phase of our program, and collaborate with departments across campus to assist in our students’ success. As the Education and Human Development Graduate Director, I facilitate the application review and advisement of our Graduate applicants, and perform a degree evaluation for any incoming graduate student to ensure compliance with state certification regulations. I assist in the onboarding of new majors, collaborate on degree audit construction, and meet with stakeholders across campus to ensure our students have the opportunities to take appropriate classes and are completing NYS requirements to earn their initial teaching certification. My undergraduate degree in Psychology and masters degree in Counselor Education, College Student Affairs and Development have helped shape my holistic approach to academic advising, allowing me to pull multiple counseling theories into my daily work with students. This includes wellness, academic success, and career counseling.
