About Bwire Moses

A passionate Natural Resource and Environmental Economist by profession, holding over a decade of experience in banking and development finance, specializing in Agricultural Finance, Climate Finance, and Green Growth. I have worked in Opportunity International (Uganda) and Opportunity Bank as a Relationship officer, Assistant Manager Relationship, and Branch Manager. Then moved to FINCA International (Uganda) as Head of Agriculture Finance. Currently I work with Agricultural Business Initiative (aBi) as Investments Manager - Green Growth and Business Development Services. aBi is a development funder that provides climate finance to agribusinesses in Uganda by channeling it through financial institutions. It is funded by Royal Danish Embassy (RDE), European Union, and the Investment Fund for Developing Countries (IFU). My areas of expertise are Climate finance, Climate Change Adaptation, Mitigation and Biodiversity conservation, Environment and Natural Resource Management, Environmental Policy & Valuation, Agricultural finance, and Rural development. Currently I am completing a Master of Science in Agricultural and Applied Economics specializing in Environment and Natural Resource Economics, offered collaboratively by Makerere University and University of Pretoria, and also a Climate Adaptation Finance Professional Certificate offered by Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. I hold an Honors degree of Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources Economics from Busitema University, a Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Management from Uganda Management Institute (UMI), and a Certificate in Insurance from the Insurance Training College, Uganda.
