About C. I. Atumah
Christabel I. Atumah is a writer whose work explores the human condition, religion, beauty, culture and identity. She is a 2025 fellow of the Idembeka Creative Writing Workshop. Her writing has appeared in The Weganda Review, The Kalahari Review, and elsewhere. Her passion for investigating women’s health issues has led her journalistic work to be published in places like Document Women and Black Ballad. Her fashion and beauty articles have also appeared in The W and Marie Claire Nigeria. In her alma mater, she was dedicated to academia, politics and literacy, where she published the first ever faculty magazine—‘Inside AAUBAMSSA’—as editor-in-chief and graphics consultant, in her capacity as Faculty Vice President. As a brand and communications specialist, she excels at helping brands build relationships with their audience. With over four years of experience in graphics design, digital marketing, email marketing, community & social media management, scriptwriting, blog & content writing, she specializes in brand storytelling, and editing. Through her design masterclass and courses started in 2023, she helps small business owners and individuals start social media content creation with their smartphones. She is also the founder of the pan-African literary community, Literary Denizens, and nonprofit org, Just Girls Affair (JUGA). As a researcher, she is a ResearchRound fellow where she focuses on the intersection and African beauty representation with AI. She’s currently interested in ongoing research in women’s health and beauty, and technological advancement in these fields. She is open to writing and editing commissions, and research assistant roles in women’s health and beauty.
